Researchers are pooling computers worldwide to solve complex scientific problems that advance our understanding of protein folding, P53 mutations, epigenetics, and disease mechanisms.
Folding At Home is a distributed computing project that harnesses the collective power of volunteers' personal computers to help scientists study diseases and develop new treatments.
Transform idle computer time into valuable contributions to protein folding research and disease understanding.
Help researchers study P53 tumor suppressor proteins, epigenetic factors, and complex molecular interactions.
Visit https://foldingathome.org/ and click the big "Start Folding" button, then "Download for Windows". The website will automatically detect your processor type (AMD or Intel).
Run the downloaded installer file (something like "fah_client_8.4.9_AMD64.exe"). If Windows asks for permission, click "Yes" and follow the installation wizard.

When setting up your identity in the program, search for our team name to join the squadron!
Choose your folding power level (Light, Medium, or Full) and set when to fold. We recommend "Only when idle" so it doesn't interfere with your regular computer use.
Click "Start Folding" and watch as your computer begins contributing to important medical research. You'll see progress bars showing the work being completed.
Every protein folded brings us closer to understanding and treating cancer and Alzheimer's
Part of a worldwide community of citizen scientists contributing to medical research
Together we're more powerful than any individual computer - join the squadron!
